Certification Validity
- Certifications of training programs are valid for three years.
- Initial CCCX Certifications for participants are valid for three years. Every second CCCX certification for participants is automatically issued for life and does not expire anymore. True expertise does not expire!

Certification Criteria for Training Programs
If you seek certification as a Customer Institute Certified Training Program, then you must meet the following criteria:
1. Contribution to Industry Practices in Customer Centricity
The extent to which your training is using current, proven, yet innovative approaches that comply with current industry CX training best practice or advance the same.

2. Fitness for Purpose & Use
The extent to which your training, in its current state of development, will deliver the stated training results in an efficient and effective manner.
- The effectiveness of the training will consistently deliver the desired results
- The efficiency of the training will guarantee minimum wasted effort or expense in achieving the desired results
3. Predictability & Accuracy
The extent to which the training, in its current state, can be repeatedly used to deliver the stated results.
- The training follows a structured approach.
- All the components of the training follow a logical sequence.
- The underpinning design and structure of the training will – if reliably applied – consistently deliver the desired learning results.
4. Sustainability & Repeatability
The extent to which the training lends itself to be duplicated in the targeted environments by any competent trainer and that its value will remain viable over time.
- The training is documented in such a way that makes it repeatable and potentially allows it to be delivered by other competent trainers.
- The training is designed in a way that allows for sustainable use over time.
- The training is flexible enough to be used in different environments yet within the defined scope.
5. Proof of Successful Learning
The training programs ensures that all participants have internalized the content presented. This is typically achieved through a final exam at the end of the program. Acceptable alternatives for an exam are frequent learning success checks throughout the program, e.g., via participants assignment submissions that are reviewed and provided by feedback by the trainer.
For exams we recommend the following best practices:
- Conclude your training program with a 30-45 minute, multiple-choice, open-book exam. This means that participants can use the training handbook or other handouts you might provide to participants while taking the exam.
- We recommend setting up the exam in an online tool (e.g. Microsoft Forms) to allow for immediate scoring after the exam.
- If participants fail the exam during the first try you are free to offer a second attempt with a different exam that participants can take at home in the days after the training event.
